of use to both students and instrutors
This is a very nice outline of how to develop the concept of the matrix exponential. It should be of use to both students and instructors since it uses a sequence of \(2 \times 2\) matrices which provided more sophisticated ideas to obtain the matrix exponential.
Cookbook approach to matrix exponential
Cookbook approach to matrix exponential, with lots of examples of its calculation. No proof of existence; several typos. Includes interesting method of calculation (with justification) when matrix is not diagonalizable.
