Jim Leitzel Lecture Fund

At its meeting in Toronto, the Board of Governors approved a proposal to establish an annual Jim Leitzel Lecture. This will be "a 50-minute address, given annually at the Mathfest, about issues or innovations in mathematical sciences education at the undergraduate or graduate level." An effort is now underway to endow a lecture fund.

On November 5-6, 2004, the MA.A. sections from Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky will hold a combined meeting at the University of Evansville, in Evansville, IN. The Midwest History of Mathematics Group is also helping to organize this meeting.
