Brunei's Students Partake in Mathematics Carnival

April 25, 2008

Students from 25 schools in Brunei, both government and private schools, participated in a two-day Mathematics Carnival, at Serasa's Secondary School, in early April.

At the carnival, a wide spectrum of mathematical concepts was on display through video games, puzzles, models, drawings, illustrations, and presentations. Each school was represented by several students accompanied by a teacher. Students had the opportunity to participate in problem-solving activities and to explore the mathematics behind colorful posters and models.

The mathematical celebration, which was held in conjunction with the Brunei's 16th "Explomaths," was launched by the carnival's guest of honor: Koh Hong Puah, Brunei's Assistant Director of Secondary Schools from the Ministry of Education.
