We offer five funding opportunities for college and university faculty, secondary partners, and other entities to run math outreach programs. These grants support students from diverse backgrounds, including those historically underrepresented in mathematics.


Dolciani Mathematics Enrichment Grants (DMEG)

Funded by the Mary P. Dolciani Halloran Foundation, these grants support projects that promote math enrichment for promising or interested middle and high school students. The initiative aims to deepen students’ mathematical engagement and encourage continued study.

Neff Outreach Fund

The John and Mary Neff Foundation has provided funding to support projects designed to encourage middle school students to study and persist in their interest in mathematics. The Foundation is particularly interested in projects that directly support students from underserved communities, rural communities, and/or indigenous communities.

Tensor SUMMA Grants

Funded by the Tensor Foundation, Tensor SUMMA Grants support projects that encourage a love for mathematics among Black, Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islander students at middle school, high school, and college levels.

Tensor Women & Mathematics Grants

Funded by the Tensor Foundation, the Tensor Women & Mathematics Grants support projects designed to encourage college and university women and pre-college girls to study and persist in mathematics.

National Research Experience for Undergraduates Program (NREUP)

The MAA’s NREUP grants support summer research programs for undergraduates in math, aiming to boost completion rates and inspire graduate study by connecting students with mentors during a crucial academic phase.
