The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jer-Chin (Luke) Chuang as the new Editor of MAA Reviews, the Association’s online publication featuring reviews of books, digital resources, and other materials of interest to the mathematics community.
Dr. Chuang is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he has taught since 2018. He has previously held positions at the University of Colorado Denver, Georgia College & State University, and Duke University. Dr. Chuang earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from Rice University in 2007, with research interests spanning differential geometry, algebraic topology, and category theory. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr Chuang has served as a reviewer for several publications including Mathematics Magazine and MAA Reviews, reflecting his long-standing commitment to pedagogy and mathematical communication.
In the role of MAA Reviews, Dr. Chuang will oversee the editorial vision of MAA Reviews, collaborating with reviewers and editors to maintain the publication’s high standards and to broaden its reach and impact within the mathematical sciences.
