Programs and Competitions Assistant
The Mathematical Association of America’s Programs and Competitions Departments leads
initiatives that advance the MAA’s mission to promote the understanding, teaching, and
learning of mathematics. These departments manage the prestigious American Mathematics
Competitions, the Putnam Competitions, and various programs for MAA members ranging from secondary teachers to higher education professionals. Through these efforts, the MAA fosters collaboration, cultivates mathematical talent, and supports excellence in mathematical
education and scholarship.
As Programs and Competitions Assistant, you’ll manage communications with our community
and support the logistics of running MAA’s nationally renowned programs and mathematics
competitions with a team of dedicated professionals committed to MAA’s mission.
MAA Reviews Editor
The MAA Reviews Editor leads the editorial direction of MAA’s book review site, working in close collaboration with the MAA Reviews editorial board. The editor is responsible for managing all submissions from book publishers, overseeing the publication of reviews twice a month, and guiding the content and quality of the book reviews.
Math Values Editor
The Math Values Editor leads the editorial direction and daily operations of MAA’s flagship blog, working in close collaboration with the Math Values editorial board. The editor is responsible for managing all blog submissions, overseeing the publication of two posts per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays), and guiding the content and quality of the blog’s distinct columns and thematic streams.
MAA FOCUS Editor
Working in cooperation with the managing editor, the MAA FOCUS editor will create timely issues of the highest quality that communicate the work of the MAA in advancing the understanding of mathematics and its impact on our world. It is published six times a year in February-March, April-May, June-July, August-September, October-November, and December-January.
