Join MAA for Virtual Hill Days

Math Advocacy Needs You.

Join us for MAA Virtual Hill Days on March 25-27 to meet online with members of Congress and their staff. We’ll advocate for strong Fiscal Year 2027 federal investment in mathematical education, especially as artificial intelligence reshapes teaching, learning, and workforce preparation.

To participate in Virtual Hill Days, you must attend one required virtual training session on either March 18 or March 19, 2026. These sessions will prepare you with background on our policy priorities, talking points, and guidance for engaging effectively with congressional staff.

Your voice carries weight. Join colleagues from across the country in advancing mathematics at the federal level. Sign up for a required virtual training session.

Advocacy at MAA

The MAA recognizes the need for sustained federal funding for mathematics research and education and joins in collective advocacy efforts to support this funding. Ongoing efforts to diminish federal support for STEM research and education threaten to undercut our nation's leadership across all STEM sectors and negatively impact MAA’s community.

MAA's central role in supporting the undergraduate program in mathematics has long been aligned with the NSF Division of Undergraduate Education’s goals to improve the quality of teaching & learning in mathematics. Today, efforts are underway to severely diminish, if not eliminate, NSF support for these critical activities.

Help us advocate for continued funding of vital research and education! On this page, you'll find information and tools to reach out to your elected representatives and help us make a case for sustaining the role of NSF in improving STEM education.
