How to Submit

Do you have an idea for a blog you’d like to contribute? We are happy to read your blog or discuss your idea with you. Send your idea to blogs@maa.org.

Contributor Guidelines

Math Values welcomes submissions from all members of the mathematics
community, broadly defined. We accept posts on almost any math-related
topic as long as it connects in some way to at least one of the MAA’s values:
Community, Inclusivity, Communication, and Teaching & Learning.

In addition, posts should:

  • be approximately 800 words, and not more than 1000.
  • be written in a conversational tone, not the formal style of a research
journal. First person narrative is fine, and even encouraged.
  • ideally include some hyperlinks to related supplemental resources or
material. If the post includes citations, these should also be hyperlinked
rather than listed as a separate bibliography.
  • include topic-appropriate images that are owned by the author, used
with explicit permission, or licensed for free use. Note that images are
often identified as part of the editorial process; they do not need to be
    included with the original submission.

These are general guidelines, not hard and fast rules. Please feel free to reach
out to us with questions or to talk about your submission – we want to hear
from you!
