Support the National Math Talent Fund
The Mathematical Association of America has spent more than 110 years investing in the mathematical sciences community: its students, its educators, and its future. The National Math Talent Fund is the next expression of that commitment.
In partnership with Last Mile Education Fund, we are building a national safety net for mathematics and quantitative science students who are near completion, but are facing unexpected financial barriers in their final semesters. The need is real, the model is proven, and the returns for students, for the field, and for the broader innovation economy are extraordinary.
The Role of the MAA
The MAA brings something to this partnership that cannot be replicated: direct, trusted relationships with the mathematical sciences community. Our network of chapters, faculty, and student members is the infrastructure through which this fund reaches the students who need it. That connection is what makes the National Math Talent Fund possible.
The Impact of Your Investment
Last Mile Education Fund's delivery model has a demonstrated track record:
- $18M+ invested directly into students across 1,000+ U.S. institutions
- 14,000+ students served to date
- 80% graduation rate within 12 months, triple the rate of peers with similar financial backgrounds
- Average award under $3,000
- 45x ten-year social return on investment
These are not projections. They are outcomes from a model already working at scale, now focused on the mathematical sciences pipeline.
