Mathematical Treasure: Claude Irson’s Abrégé de l'arithmétique pratique et raisonnée

Claude Irson (1655–1690) was a 17th-century French mathematician and grammarian. He also worked as an accountant. Among the many books that he wrote can be found Abrégé de l'arithmétique pratique et raisonnée (Compendium of practical and reasoned arithmetic), published posthumously in 1695:
