Spectral Theory and Quantum Mechanics
See Michael Berg’s review of the first English edition. The second edition is more than 200 pages longer, making an already big book even bigger. In addition to fixing typos and correcting errors of various kinds, the author tells us that
I have added more than 100 pages of fresh material, both mathematical and physical, in particular regarding the notion of superselection rules—addressed from several different angles—the machinery of von Neumann algebras and the abstract algebraic formulation.
There has also been an expansion of the chapter on the lattice approach to Quantum Mechanics. There are “many new exercises, remarks, examples, and references.”
