Figure 12: Essay question

This task could cross many levels of Bloom’s taxonomy. It requires students to observe and relate in their discussion what is happening on both graphs as the point moves around the circle. Coordination of two movements (circular and wave) is known to be a very difficult cognitive task (Piaget, Inhelder, and Szeminska, 1960). Students’ responses will reveal their understanding. Those that are able to articulate and describe this connection are at a higher level in the cognitive domain.
