See our review of the first edition. According to the preface, for the new edition the statistics chapter has been split into two (one on descriptive statistics, the other on inferential statistics) and moved earlier (what used to be chapter 11 is now chapters 8 and 9). New examples of applications have been added, and more experience in teaching the course has led to the introduction of "smart" methods intended to ease the "pain points" for students.
