2013 MAA Awards Recipients Announced
The Mathematical Association of America announces the winners of the Certificates for Meritorious Service, Euler Book Prize, Chauvenet Prize, Selden Prize for Research in Undergraduate MathematicsEducation, Haimo Teaching Awards, and Gung and Hu Distinguished Service Award. Judges Wanted for JMM Undergrad Poster Session
The Undergraduate Student Poster Session will be held on Friday, January 11, from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. The session is reserved for undergraduate and first-year graduate students submitting posters on work done while an undergraduate. Sign up to be a judge.
Mathematics Magazine Editor Search
The MAA seeks to identify candidates to succeed Walter Stromquist as Editor of Mathematics Magazine when his term expires inDecember 2014. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, the names of three references, and a statement of interest containing a vision of and ideas about the journal. Nominations are welcome.
Review of applicants will begin March 15, 2013, with appointment as Editor-Elect to commence on January 1, 2014. The five-year editorial term runs January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2019. Read more here.
JMM 2014 Deadlines Approaching
All MAA members are encouraged to consider submitting proposals for sessions. Guidelines and instructions may be found here. It's not too late to propose a session for the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Baltimore, but be aware that the deadlines are coming up very soon. Submissions for Contributed Paper Sessions are due December 28, 2012. Submissions for Minicourses are due December 25, 2012. Submissions for Panels, Workshops, and Poster Sessions are due April 9, 2013.

There Is Still Time . . . Travel Grant Program for MCA 2013
Don't forget to submit your applications by December 31, for funding for U.S.-based mathematicians attending the 2013 Mathematical Congress of the Americas in Guanajuato, Mexico, August 5-9, 2013. Award decisions are to be announced by April 1, 2013. Details.
