Dr. Siegel is a founder of the Maryland Mathematics and Science Coalition. While at Towson, she has received the College of Natural and Mathematical Sciences' Outstanding Faculty Award as well as the President's Award for Outstanding Service to the University. She has been a member of the Towson University Senate during most of her time at the school, and for the last 10 years Dr. Siegel has been a representative of Towson to the Council of University System Faculty of the University System of Maryland, serving as the chairperson twice.
Dr. Siegel is a co-author with Larry Goldstein and David Schneider of the book, Finite Mathematics and Its Applications. She has also been part of an authoring team with Sheldon Gordon, Ben Fusaro, Florence Gordon, and Alan Tucker of the pre-calculus text, Functioning in the Real World, being published by Pearson Higher Education (formerly published by Addison-Wesley).
Her history with the MAA is a long and productive one. She served as the Editor of Mathematics Magazine for five years in the early 1990ís. She has served on the Executive Committee since 1991 and was elected Secretary of the Association in 1996. She has also been on the MAA Consultants list for a number of years and has been a valued program reviewer.
